Example Sentences

Learning vocabulary is great, but seeing the words in real sentences helps you remember them much faster. Here are a few simple examples of how to use Spanish seasons in everyday situations:

  • La primavera es mi estación favorita. – Spring is my favorite season.
Use this to talk about which season you like best.
  • En verano vamos a la playa. – In summer we go to the beach.
In Spanish, you use “en” (in) before seasons: en verano, en otoño, en invierno, en primavera.
  • En invierno hace mucho frío. – In winter it is very cold.
Perfect for talking about weather, clothes, and activities in each season.

Tip: Try making your own sentences about what you like to do in each season. Personal examples help you remember new words much better.

Tips to Remember the Seasons

At first glance, the Spanish seasons are easy to recognize — and they are used very often in everyday conversations about weather and time.

Here’s how to memorize them effectively:

  1. Connect with weather images – Picture each season clearly: primavera with flowers, verano with sunshine, otoño with colorful leaves, invierno with snow.
  2. Link seasons to months – Connect each season with typical months:
    • Primavera (spring): marzo, abril, mayo
    • Verano (summer): junio, julio, agosto
    • Otoño (autumn/fall): septiembre, octubre, noviembre
    • Invierno (winter): diciembre, enero, febrero

This way you practice months and seasons together.

  3. Make it personal – Talk about what you usually do in each season: En verano voy de vacaciones. (I go on vacation in summer.) En invierno bebo chocolate caliente. (In winter I drink hot chocolate.)
  4. Use seasons in small dialogues – Practice questions like: ¿Cuál es tu estación favorita? (Which season do you like most?) or ¿Qué tiempo hace en otoño? (What’s the weather like in autumn?).

With just a few minutes of daily practice, you’ll soon be able to talk about all the seasons in Spanish naturally and confidently.
